Join us as we explore the inspiring journey of Joe Blan, a passionate musician whose roots run deep in the soulful sounds of the South. Growing up in a musically inclined family on cotton plantations outside of Troy, Alabama, during the ’50s and ’60s, Joe discovered his love for singing while entertaining himself and others in the fields. With influences like Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and BB King, Joe honed his craft, captivating friends and family with his powerful voice. His journey continued through school talent shows, church choirs, and a neighborhood band in Milwaukee, paving the way for a lifelong passion for music.
After a hiatus for military service and a battle with smoking, Joe’s spirit for singing was reignited when a karaoke enthusiast recognized his talent. This led him back to the stage, where he began performing with bands and enjoying the thrill of live music once again. Today, Joe continues to share his love for blues and karaoke, performing across various venues and keeping the musical legacy alive. With the blues in his DNA, Joe is proof that it’s never too late to pursue your passion and let your voice be heard!
